New necklace

I recently completed this beaded bezel and bail for one of my ceramic cabochons.  Is is amazing to me how well the seed beads blend with the ceramic stains and glazes.  I used ultrasuede and glued it to the back of the cabochon and then did a button hole stitch around the edge to attach the first row of beads and went on from there with peyote stitch.  Because of the ultrasuede  the back of the cab is a lovely forest green and is soft and comfy on the skin.  I also beaded a bit around the back to secure the initial rows of beads.

  1. I this is really stunning Mary! I love the combo of the seed beads with your cab, and I can picture the ultrasuede back, green and soft like a forest floor. I love the cording and ribbon too...this is really beautiful, I love it!

  5. There is such a stunning variety of colors and shapes of little glass seed beads. I have no patience in wrangling them and they end up as spacers for me. So I really appreciate the artistry that you display here!
    Enjoy the day, Miss Mary!

  8. So nice to hear your impression on this LeAnn. This fir has been here since it was a sapling. It made it through our terrible ice storm some years back and continues to stand proud and serene.

  9. Erin, I think you could do it. You handle so much detail in your own work. But I agree, they are not for all beaders. Why, I don't understand.

  11. Hi Cindy, I am so pleased you like it. Yes, it will be mine for quite awhile. But actually I made it as a model for a class I am planning to teach. I may make another one for a Christmas present for a very special daughter-in-law.
